I fell in love with baking the first

time I made a carrot cake.

I still remember standing in the kitchen

of the house I grew up in, grating carrots

for my middle-school home-ec

assignment. It was that much of a transcendent experience.

Throughout a great career

in advertising, the love never went

away. One week after leaving my

last agency job, I was in pastry school.

 

And I have never looked back.

Baking is so much harder than the

corporate world, but so worth it.
